chbx: The lastest stable release is 12.04, be aware that updates for 12.04 aren't being issued for the next 6 months, so that page will probably be out of date when you need it

has anybody ever used a tool like ddrescue to copy the data of a failing drive? I need to pull off of this drive. It is the backup drive of a windows laptop and it will not even mount. I can't do anything with the drive since it does not have any non-damaged partitions. I am not sure if this is a recoverable drive though
